What is the single best first desk upgrade?
If you work in the evening, a good task lamp. If you work on a laptop all day, a laptop stand paired with a separate keyboard and mouse.
Do I need a monitor riser?
Only if your screen sits below eye level. A riser lifts the display so the top edge is at or just below eye line.
What colour temperature suits a desk lamp?
Neutral white around 4000K for daytime, warmer 2700K to 3000K in the evening.
Is a GaN charger worth it?
Usually yes. GaN chargers are smaller and run cooler, and one multi-port unit can replace several adapters. Check the shared output across ports.
How do I hide cables without drilling?
Use an under-desk tray, adhesive clips at the desk edge and one power strip so a single cable reaches the wall.
How many organisers does a desk need?
Usually three: a pen cup, a catch-all tray and one drawer or box for the rest. More containers often mean more clutter.
Are sit-stand desks worth it?
They help if you change position often. A tabletop converter is a cheaper way to try the habit before buying a full desk.
